Cascades Live Night Coding and more

Next week on Monday / Tuesday Mobile Developer Conference in Stuttgart:

MDC starts on Monday with a Keynote by Heiko Behrens. If you know Heiko, you know this is always great stuff Heiko talks about.

MDC has 3 parallel tracks with Sessions about Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows, …

most important for me as always: the networking and discussions with other speakers and attendees.

There are two sessions by me:

Monday, 11:30 – 12:30 Session ‘Cool Apps for Smartphones and Tablets

I will talk about UI / UX / Navigation on Devices running Android 4.x vs. BlackBerry 10 and demonstrate what’s important if you want to create cool apps running on different platforms native.

Monday, 18:30 – …… ‘Live Cascades (BB10) Night Coding’

Curious to see HowTo develop native apps with Cascades for the new BlackBerry 10 (BB10) Platform ? Come to this Night Coding Session to see how easy this can be done.  (There will be also a drawing of 5 PlayBooks) Only one year ago RIM announced Cascades and BB10 (first named BBX) – if you see what’s available now you’ll astonished. API is freezed now, so you can start developing BB10 APPs. BB10 Devices will be available in first quarter of 2013, but I’ll demonstrate the APP on a Developer BB10 Device.

BTW: if you have questions about BlackBerry Developer Relations – there’s a booth from RIM. It’s good to see that BlackBerry is present at german developer conferences now.

On Tuesday there’s a session about ‘Mobile Apps Development for BlackBerry 10‘by Kamel Lajili and Aaron Ardiri

I’m doing native development with Cascades, but you can develop using Android, Air, WebWorks /HTML5, Qt, GamesEngines, C, C++, … At this session you can also win one of 10 PlayBook Tablets. if you don’t know: BB10 will also run on PlayBook in 2013.

I will leave MDC on Tuesday morning and jump to EclipseCON Europe

Using Eclipse as my IDE since more then 10 years it’s always great to meet all the friends and to learn what’s new. So I’m looking forward to be there again !

Of course I have my BB10 Alpha Device with me – so if you want to get first impressions from BB10 Apps: feel free to ask me.
