… and Action ! (MTC 2013)

tomorrow (2013-03-12) at MTC 2013 I’ll speak about

ActionBar and Navigation Android 4 vs BlackBerry 10

If you follow my blog you know, that I’m always fighting for native mobile applications.

So many times I’m downloading Apps I could cry about UI/UX and I cannot count the apps I deleted immediately after downloading.

You as mobile developers only have to follow some rules to create good looking native apps following the UI Design Guides.

Tomorrow at my Session:

Und…Action! Action-Bar-Konzepte in Android und BlackBerry

Speaker: Ekkehard Gentz Independent Software Architect

… I will demonstrate some of the UI / UX rules from Android 4 and BlackBerry 10.

My focus will be on ActionBar – concepts and Navigation through the app.

We’ll take a look at the UI Design Guides, some Apps and also at Sourcecode what you have to do to create cool apps.

BlackBerry 10 Devices are now also available in Germany: Vodafone already started sales, Telekom and O2 will follow soon.

At CeBIT BlackBerry 10 boothes at Telekom and Vodafone were crowded.

So here you also get a chance to take a first look at BlackBerry 10 UI / UX concepts😉

My session will also help to abstract UI concepts to make it easier for you to design native apps for multi platforms.

I’m using Heiko Behrens Camholder to demo live from BlackBerry Z10 and Android 4 Galaxy Nexus.

There’s another session about BlackBerry 10 tomorrow in the evening:

The new and innovative Mobile Computing Platform “BlackBerry 10”

Speaker: Aaron Ardiri RIM

The BlackBerry 10 Platform is built from ground up on the QNX operating system to fulfill the need of a modern, open, form factor independent mobile computing platform. BlackBerry 10 developers can use a big verity of technologies to develop Applications. In this session the BlackBerry 10 Design experience will be presented along with an overview about the underlining software architecture.

BTW: there are two more Sessions on native development and HTML5 development for BlackBerry10:

From 0 to BlackBerry 10 – Building Apps using HTML5

Speaker: Luca Sale RIM

The fun starts at HelloWorld but doesn’t stop there! In this practical hands on session we will start from an empty page, go through the best practice of building a mobile app, add the platform specific capabilities and finally package and deploy the application on the real device. We will talk about quirks, security and much more around HTML5 development.
