install Eclipse for BlackBerry development (Windows)

we’re using Windows 7 – 64 bit native or have already installed Windows 7 into a VM and Java 6 SDK 32 bit as default JDK on Windows 7 – 64.

Now we have to install Eclipse and the BlackBerry  Eclipse Plug-in – there are two ways to solve this:

  • using the Full Installer: a pre-configured Eclipse 3.6 Java together with BlackBerry Eclipse PlugIn
  • Attention: not working yet for 1.3 –> using Eclipse + UpdateSite: install as usual from Eclipse download and then add BlackBerry PlugIn from Updatesite

the Full installer is the easiest way, but perhaps you prefer to use standard eclipse downloads plus update sites as I do.

Attention:  BlackBerry Plug-in 1.3 only runs on Eclipse 3.6 (Helios)
